6-week fun mindfulness and positive wellbeing classes for schools

We offer tailor-made courses using modules from the 'Mindful Heart' system

In line with the SPHE curriculum learning objectives, my Mindfulness in schools programme is a way to learn life skills in a fun and interactive way.

Classes are secular too. These sessions are all inclusive.

Every child can get involved.  There is no sense of competition which leads to a great sense of achievement for all children participating.

Choose anything from a 4-week to 10-week plan of tailor-made courses.

My child-centred approach is informed by the “Mindful Heart” curriculum developed by Paul McNamee and Louise Shanagher.  Please get in touch to discuss a programme to suit the needs of your school.

Sessions typically are 45-60 minutes for junior classes and 60-75 minutes for senior classes

About the Mindful Heart system

My schools programme is based on “The Mindful Heart” the first accredited Irish mindfulness programme in the Irish school curriculum, ‘The Mindful Heart – Introduction to Mindfulness in the classroom.’
This curriculum was designed by Louise Shanagher & Paul McNamee. Louise is a children’s therapist, mindfulness teacher and Psychology Lecturer with more qualifications in Play therapy as well as being an author.
Paul has psychology qualifications and has worked in education and curriculum design for over 10 years.

The Mindful Heart Curriculum is in line with Sphe program learning objectives and covers requirements outlined in Minister Richard Bruton’s Wellbeing Policy 2018. I facilitate my classes in accordance with circular 42 best practices
in the use of programmes or external facilitators in promoting wellbeing consistent with the wellbeing policy statement.

The programme really helps make a difference in mindset, confidence, self esteem and even concentration by helping children’s emotional wellbeing and self-regulation.

With these skills there is often less conflict, more awareness of others and a better ability to relate to others. Children have an improved sense of gratitude too.
